Nottinghamshire Construction Forum (NCF) has teamed up with the Nottinghamshire Education
NEBA creates and supports partnerships between business and education to create dynamic learning opportunities for young people and NCF has shown their commitment to local education by signing up to NEBA’s brokerage service.
This means NEBA will provide NCF with regular updates on current national, regional and local issues relating to employer engagement and work-related learning whilst also providing information on relevant networking events and resources available to support employers with work-related learning activities.
NEBA will invite feedback and comments from NCF in relation to specific issues, evaluate the feedback from NCF and other employer forums across Nottinghamshire and present these views to local authorities, schools and other education providers.
“High quality employer engagement such as this is also crucial to the successful delivery of the new 14-19 Diplomas, which have been designed in partnership with employers in order to encourage young people to gain the qualifications they need to progress into further and higher education or employment, in an innovative and exciting way.”
Mervyn Brown, Chair of NCF, said: “This initiative of NEBA’s is a very important one for us, as it all helps the broad effort to keep the required level of skills feeding in to the construction industry, in all its many facets .
“The NCF is the best networked of all the Nottinghamshire construction related employer companies and organisations, and we shall be sharing the outputs from these arrangements with all of the NCF associates and networks as appropriate. Strong education and business links are vital to developing successful companies. Although life is very tough in the front line of construction at the moment, we still need to keep developing the skills which will be required in the next up-turn”
